We Dun Like No Stinkin' Spiders

Due to a recent heat induced spider infestation in my bedroom(I found three in my bed, one under my pillow), I have been sleeping on my tiny loveseat in the living room for the past three weeks. The downside is that it is super uncomfortable and there is no room for the boys to cuddle with me at night. Plus, Albert and Elvis spend a majority of their day inside of the bedroom laying in that durn spider bed. I was missing my kitties.
Because I am officially a Big Wuss and I knew I would never sleep peacefully in that room again, I started thinking of other options. The one that made the most sense was moving the bed into the spider free living room and turning the bedroom into a sitting/music/dressing room. Problem solved!!

Notice anything different? I do. There's a couch in the bedroom. This room is not quite done yet, but when it is I think it will be really fun. Albert still has his stool by the window so he is content.

And here is the new living space. Bed acts as a bed and a couch. I love falling asleep to TV and not waking up with a crick in my neck or spiders. Also the light is better out here so I can read a lot longer into the night.

Have I mentioned the kitties yet? No? Well they love it. Elvis is my constant sitting companion. He watches TV with me, snoozes on my arm when I read(when he is not actively shredding said book with his teeth). It is the perfect layout. It gives the home a more studio feel, but that works fine for us. Albert still prefers any window seat as you can tell in the picture above, but at least we're all together.

Home Sweet Spider Free Home!

Hooray! I love the idea of having a spider free bedroom/sleeping place. I also like how you get to read late into the night as well as have your kitties sleeping with you. Right now I'm sleeping on a twin size bed. There isn't enough room for 9, Chani and 9 on it. Chani still sleeps with me, but 9 prefers the computer chair. Ah well. Soon, I hope to be back in my real bed!

Excellent solution. And the boys look quite happy with it, too.

Gah! Spiders! In your bed! Gaaah!

I would have done just the same thing. Plus, your living/sleeping room looks really comfy and welcoming. Plus, floofy kittybutts to snuggle with, it's a win/win :)

I am surpirsed that the Mighty Hunters who live with you have not wiped out them stinkin' spiders. Or are they only attracted to paper?

Great design by necessity, Cori! Glad you and the guys are enjoying the new set up.

What's not to love about more time with the fuzzy boys...they look quite cozy with the new order of things...Elvis looks like a true king in the middle of the bed!

Very refreshing, moving things around like that - and yes, anything that allows more, longer, cozier snorgling with the boys is a {thumbs up}....but yes, I'm with A. Nonymous, how come the boys aren't doing their Major Hunterly job? (You know, I think there are silent, scentless things you can plug into an outlet and it gets rid of spiders or other Abhorrent Thingies........just sayin')
