I received this via the comment section and am happy to re-post..

"To all cat and pet lovers,
I am writing on behalf of the Elmsford Animal Shelter in New York. We are the largest no kill facility in the area, home to some
1000 animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and other small household pets). We have been in existence since 1931 taking in many animals that would otherwise remain homeless or worse. Owing to the current economic downturn, our shelter is in a dire financial crisis facing closure in the near future. We receive no govt funding
and rely solely on public donations. I am appealing to all bloggers and pet lovers to help us in our time of need. I need help getting the word out. (Not an experienced blogger) Our website is www.elmsfordanimalshelter.com.
Please view our site and make a donation of any amount if you can afford to. Also, and just as important, please get the word out that we are in need of assistance. Thanks in advance.
A fellow animal lover in New York."

We will make a donation but wish we could do more. Good Luck from our home to yours.
xoxo Cori, Albert and Elvis

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Cat

Don't let the innocent fur face fool you. This one is Evil. I heard the kitty yodeling and felt the head-butting and still I stayed in bed this morning. I just wanted five more minutes of sleep. I didn't realize my cat thought he was starving to death. All of a sudden I hear a splash and the unmistakable sound of the cat food bowl being turned over. The following pictures are not photoshopped. My cat is a magician.

How do you do this? The water bowl was completely empty and balanced ON TOP of the food bowl sitting UNDER the food mat. WHAT?
Also, notice THERE IS FOOD IN THE BOWL. What does this cat want from me?

The glare is due to the water drenching my kitchen floor.

And of course, there is the drowned, water puffed cat food getting soggier by the second. Might I add that I only had one paper towel left. I just love cleaning water off of the dirty kitchen floor with my bath towel.

Dradle-Bob and Lightning Booger-Pants

I've come to the conclusion that my cats have no idea what their names are and it's all my fault.
These are just a few of the nicknames I call them on a daily basis:

Elly, Elby, bubbas, El-bow, bubbie, Elvira, Elly-belly, Stinky, doody-butt, boo boo-kins, Elbis and Elvis.

Bert, Bertie, Bertie Bear, Bertie Ball, boo boo-bear, Ber-toks, ber-tok-a-moose, Buddy, furball, butt head(he's my problem child), Stop that, quit it, get down, don't do that, ALBERT and Albert...(you see the difference, right? lol)

How many names does your cat have?

Update(2/17/10): I love love love all of feedback. It's so funny how many nicknames we have in common(buddy, pookie, butt-head, stop that, etc...) and how many we don't. You guys are seriously creative. I especially love Sasquatch, Hooker, Boobs and Jiggles which totally had me LOL-ing into my coffee and Nermal-nator...*sigh* i heart nermal.

Then there's the ALL CAPS category..Reading through these I might have muttered an Amen and a Halleljah or two, cause boy, don't I understand...
there's the classic "NO"
WI-CKET-G*#DAMNIT( change WI-CKET for AL-BERT and I think we have a winner)
*
BAD DOG
Stop Terrorizing Your Sister
G*#DAMMIT WOULD YOU LEAVE THAT ALONE!*
WOULD YOU PLEASE QUIT EATING MY HAIR!
and some personal favorites, FOR FREAK'S SAKE ALBERT and MOTHER TRUCKER, QUIT KNOCKING OVER THE WATER BOWL.

Ugh...Must. Stop. Smiling. My cheeks are starting to hurt. :) Thanks guys, I really needed the laugh today. Keep it up!

*Hope our collective potty mouth doesn't offend too much. :D

In Rememberance: R.I.P. Glitter Ball

Goodbye Glitter Ball. You suffered so. Your many bouts with the sharp end of a claw and partial drownings in the water bowl left you broken and covered in slime. May the "other side" be filled with good little kittens who actually APPRECIATE their toys.

Pet Peeves

Things that simultaneously mystify, confuse and annoy me about the feline species.

1) It's 5:30 in the morning and in their unrelenting quest for food somehow know the exact place to step in order to squish their sleeping owner's bladder. Annoying.

2) Look but don't touch. Cats invented this I'm sure. Why else would they force themselves into your lap, book, computer keyboard, etc. and then run away as soon as you try to pet them. Mystifying.

3) What, exactly, do they find so captivating about the bedroom ceiling. They both stare and meow in tandem and try as I might, I just don't see it. Confusing (and if I'm totally honest, super creepy. Ghosts anyone?).

These are just a few of the things that I ponder on a daily basis. I'm not the only one, right?

Super Bowl Sunday

My little knuckle-heads finally agree on something..their pick for this years Super Bowl Winners- The New Orleans Saints!

Me..well I could care less about football, commercials and half-time shows. Why should I? I'm not from New Orleans or wherever the Colts are from. I was ready to tune out my furball's cheers and TV rants until I came upon these...Awesomely awesome Super Bowl Cupcakes. I mean, look how freaking cute these are.

Sidenote: There was a Colt's cupcake but somebody didn't have breakfast this morning and while waiting at a stop light the durn thing found it's way into her hand and then into her mouth and suddenly a cupcake massacre had occured. Nothing left except some vanilla crumbs, a blue icing covered mouth and a complete lack of dignity. Sad.

Check out Albert's "Game Face". Terrifying and cute all at the same time.

Also, in case you were wondering what our superbowl snacks were going to be...Turkey and Liver for the boys and for me...well, let's just say this Lemon Coconut cupcake has my name written all over it.
Happy Sunday Everyone!

It's All About the Timing

This is Elvis's way of telling me I make a better door than window. Notice the lean. Apparently I was blocking whatver view he had of the bird show going on outside.

I think this look says it all: "Next time you want to schedule a photo shoot, make an appointment first."

Intervention: Ep. 32- "Catnip"

One cutie-pie kitty found an unattended bag of catnip and photographed below is their love story.

Elvis, the first step is admitting you have a problem..
