He Found a Loophole
Elvis was being a butt-head(I say that very lovingly), and ripping into the pillows on the couch. After I swatted him down for the third time, I told him if he scratched those pillows once more I was putting in a time out.
Clever cat that he is, he stopped clawing at the couch cushions and moved on to my great grandmother's antique chair. Butt-head.Saturday, May 23, 2009
Turning Lemons Into Lemonade
Due to the somewhat turbulant economy and Mommy spending her paychecks on bills instead of shiny new cat toys, the kittens are finding new and creative ways to get the most use out of the play things they already have. Submitted for your approval: Elvis and his Speed Ball 5000 Race Track and Scratcher.
To the untrained eye this looks like a simple scratch pad and toy chaser.
Elvis says, "Au contraire ma frere."
Not only does it provide endless hours of ball chasing play time..

Purr-suasion....

I call this their BBC Masterpiece Theatre, the Jane Austen series, pose (In focus, strong lead character, up front, gazing delicately into the distance, while blurrier supporting actor, equally as strong and lovable, resides in the background).
My guess is that gibberish only makes sense to me.

Cabinet Compromise

How I think the top of the cabinet should look. Pretty, right?

How Elvis thinks the top of the cabinet should look.

I tell him to get down.

He doesn't.
Finally, we settled on a compromise. He does whatever he wants and I reward him with treats and snuggles. I'm starting to wonder if I ever had the upper hand in this relationship.

Whatcha lookin' at Bertie...

Bertie's floof.

We are finally back up and running. We found a temporary solution to the downloading problem and now, lucky for you, have an influx of kitty portraits.
First up, Albert and his afternoon playdate with the chair, Elvis and the scratching circle ball racer. Don't let the pictures fool you. This is one of Albert's favorite games.

This was one of the calmer moments of the past couple of days. I had two root canals this week so I have been laid up at home. Needless to say, the boys are a little fed up with me. They have been acting out 24-7,running around like little coo-coo bears. It is possible they are tired of me and my moaning and grumping. Too much quality time? :O)

Oh well. If they can handle my cry baby whining, I can handle their counter jumping, feet pouncing, lunatic little antics. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Technical Issues...
I got new camera stuff and the new picture card is having some issues. We have all three heads together trying to solve this issue. It goes a little something like this:
Mom:GRRRRRRRRRRR. Why won't this stupid thing connect. Stop telling me to Restart.AHHHHHH!!!!!(Shakes computer and calls it many unkind and unflattering names. May insult computer's mother...especially heinous as it is Mother's Day...)
Albert:Maybe the computer doesn't like being called names.
Elvis:Yeah, why don't you cuddle it and give it smooches.
Mom:Umm..I don't think that will work.
Elvis:How do you know? Have you tried it?
Mom: No. And I'm not going to either.
Albert and Elvis: DO IT!!!DO IT!!!How will you know it doesn't work until you try it. PLEASEEEEE!!!!
Mom(sighing):OK. Kisses computer and hugs it to chest.Looks up immediately when she hears two snickering kittens.
Elvis(between laughing spasms):Oh man. I can't believe she really did it. HEHEHEH! She actually hugged it. HAHAHHAH!
Albert:I heheheh know hehehe! She heheh is hehhe so hehehe gullible heheheh.!
Mom:All right you two. Out of the dining room. You're not helping this situation AT ALL.

To Eat or Not to Eat...That is the Question!
In my hurry to please Mr. Elvis "I step in my poop" Livermore, I mistakenly got the wrong cat food. Not only was it made specifically for seniors, but(GASP) it was the pate. F.Y.I. Elvis hates pate and has been known in the past to fast until the correct sliced form was purchased.
Seeing as how I refused to go back to the grocery store in the rain, I mixed up the pate with warm water and smooshed it into a soupy mess hoping he would believe it was all gravy. I set the food down and nervously waited for his reaction. Please notice the hungry lion look in his eyes. This could end badly.
He sniffed and looked at me disdainfuly, but realizing it was this or nothing, gave it a try. I am pretty sure he wanted to dislike it. At first.
Glory be, after the initial stinky face, he settled in like the crazed kitty he is. (Zoom in on the pic above for some pate on nose action) Crisis averted! This time...
