The boys are ALMOST a year old and growing up so much. They are settling into their personalities and it is amazing to watch. I just love love, love, love them. Even their BAD habits are kinda cute. Like them chasing each other around the house at 4:30 in the morning, nails screeching and sliding across the floor. Or Elvis ripping a hole in the box spring that only he can fit into and then going coo-coo-crazy racing around inside the innards of my bed, WHILE I'M SLEEPING. Adorable, right?
Plus, there are the toys I am constantly finding in their water bowl, drenched and ruined.
Even still, bad habits and all, Albert and Elvis are a constant source of amusement in this house and I love them even more for that.

Cori, you're just so dang funny. I of course sing very similar nonsense to my kitties, but am not quite sure I'd have the cajones to post it on the interwebs.
Love it.
Cori! I love the video!!! I talk to 9 and Chani the exact same way. It's awesome :)
And yes, I'm sure that Albert will believe you that it's a pink ruffled man shirt. How about a purple ruffled man shirt? Purple seems more his color =^.^=
By the way, I love your book shelf! I can't wait to get my condo so I can get something similar.
What a treat! Sue and Marlene are so right. You are not alone in your love singings. I loved the tales of the kittens' badness because they are some of the reasons I love cats so much. The soaked toys in the water dish. A classic. But Elvis' inside-the-bed midnight rampages? That's new to me. He's a genius.
I had one very dear cat who also spent a great deal of time "under the springs" -- until the fabric finally ripped and what was left resembled rafters more than a hammock. It did end the night rampages.
There's a Yiddish word: "paschkudnik". That's what you call a cat who runs around inside the bed, or leaves sodden mice on Mom. But you KNOW that it's meant to be a treat, a gift - a sign of their love. And the mutual love between you and the boys is evident in every single picture. I can see it reflected in their eyes. HOORAY!
Ha! Trudy and Lyle each have theme songs that I sing to them when I get home. They're my captive audience. :)
Also, Lyle is still in the habit of dropping his toys into the water dish, but today brought a whole new level of weird. I had some tiny purple potatoes from a farmer's market sitting on the kitchen counter, and I guess someone leapt up and snatched one to play with. Because when I got home today? There was a tiny purple potato sitting in the middle of the water dish...
We are still wondering which thing didn't belong there...
Great video! And we loved the story about the bad habits. Truly adorable.
How lovely being woken up by a wet rat in ones bed in the middle of the night! But seriously, that`s what having cats is all about, and don`t we just love it?!
Woo-Hoo. I'm glad nobody's monitor broke due to my horrendous singing. Luckily the boys don't seem to mind. For all they know, I could be Whitney Houston! LOL!
ROTFL!
I've never owned a cat (or been owned by one), so I really love the way how you let us peek into that world. I can just imagine waking up to something cold, wet and slightly furry!
The boys are perfect gentlemen...washing the little mousies before presenting them to you...breakfast in bed mama~
