Hello everyone! Remember us? The boys and I just wanted to say a quick hello and catch things up a bit. We have had visitors galore this summer and the cats and I couldn't be happier. My college friend Lindsay came up from North Carolina last week and Albert and Elvis absolutely loved it. Elvis in particular was completely smitten. Out of nowhere he became the most vocal cat known to man. "Meow" this and "Meow" that. Such a chatterbox. I'm not sure if it was because he adored Lindsay or if it was because she introduced him to his new BFF for life, smoked salmon. I wish you all could have seen the expression on this cat's face when he had his first bite. Comical I tell you. It's no wonder he followed her around like a little puppy for the rest of her stay.
As Lindsay left yesterday, Elvis cried for her at the door. It was very sad/sweet so when I got home I gave him the bit of salmon she had left just for him.
Things are slowly getting back to normal. For a little bit at least. Another friend is coming up from Texas next week and 4th of july is this weekend, so I will get as much posting done as possible. I have tons of new pictures so stay tuned!
p.s: I can hardly believe it myself, but Albert HATES salmon. I mean really? This cat tries to eat everything from tofu to ice cream. What a strange bird.

Hooray, such manly pictures :) Glad to see Elvis in all his glory.
As for weird food tastes, Q loved tuna but couldn't be bothered by steak. My first cat, Kioki, loved steak and butter... butter on eggs was a particular favorite. And Kioki liked asparagus as well. It was an odd sight seeing him wolf that down.
Another friend's cat loves lettuce and mayo...
I'm not sure what 9 and Chani's particular food likes are just yet. 9 tries to eat whatever I'm eating... He seems to go for the sweet stuff. Chani stole bacon once, but got caught. We'll see!
[singsongy voice] Elvis has a cru-ush, Elvis has a cru-ush!
We just won't specify whether it's Lindsay or the smoked fusalmon.
You think Albert is weird for not wanting salmon? There's a cat I know who turns down lamb, steak, sashimi grade tuna, and any other fresh fish or meat (or fruit or vegetables). She just wants her kibble and a few Greenies.
Oh, she did lick some bread pudding and some Tabasco (on separate occasions, of course, since Tabasco bread pudding sounds truly upsetting).
I agree with AnnF...Elvis does have a crush, but knowing cats, my bet is on the smoked salmon (sorry Lindsay).
My Poppy refuses to eat anything other than her prescription dry kibble and hairball medicine (as a special treat)...she actually recoils in horror and runs away if you offer her a piece of tuna or turkey or any other treat that most cats love.
I want to snuggle your cat sooo bad... I'll just run and snuggle my furball instead! ;)
I'm seeing a strong family resemblance between Elvis and Handsome Lyle these days (Handsome Lyle seems to have become his full name around my household...). Same brown snout, same regal pout!
Such handsome kitty friends we have. :)
Tofu icecream over salmon? What a crazy cat!
And really touching, your story with the new BFF Lindsay :-)
What a handsome boy you are, Elvis.
As for weird food preferences, my boy loves sweet stuff (whoever says cat can't taste sweet need to come to my place!), olives, olive oil, and lots of other strange things.
That Elvis is looking like one long, tall drink of water these days. He seems to have gone through a growth spurt in the last few weeks. Or, maybe it's the salmon.
Great reading your posst
Grateful for shariing this
