Hello Everyone! Thank you for all of the well wishes, and very nice to meet you too Poppy Q.
Sigh... the ac did arrive and while it does cool down the apt. enough for me to not have heat stroke(barely) it is still too hot for the boys.
The babies started panting yesterday and Albert started throwing up. I about lost my S!@* and rushed them to the clinic where the amazing vet techs helped me wrap them in ice packs tp cool them down. The change was instant. When the vet finally took a look at them, Al's temperature was back down to normal and El's was only a couple of degrees higher, 103 when it should be 101-ish. Thankfully there was room at the inn and I was able to leave them there in the ac with two cages that open into each other so they could be together.
I miss them sooo much. With the temperature reaching the HIGHEST it has ever been in Seattle, I think I will leave the boys there for a couple more days yet. The vet techs there are the best you could ask for and when I called to check in on them this morning, they were already in the room with Al and El listening to them chat away. Apparently they play the who's who game and try to figure out ways to tell the boys apart. I can't wait to go visit with them tomorrow and let them know that I didn't forget about them and to give them hugs.
I hope you and all of your pets are finding ways to beat the heat. Chilly xoxo's to everyone!

Awww guys hope your ok and the temp goes down a bit...
I smiled at the vet trying to tell them apart! I have the same trouble - i cant tell either!!
Thanks Martin. I hope to have the little guys home by this weekend!!
Awww, your two babies! I hope that the weather cooperates and cools down for you. I can totally relate to losing it when the kitties get ill.
That being said, if and when I move further south(back to San Jose in September or sooner), I'm going to be worried about my two in the heat during the summer.
Must invest in a portable a/c
Wow, this is quite serious. We had no idea that it could get THAT HOT inside. Your poor boys! We're sending smoochies and purrs. Siena & Chilli
Good for you to notice and take action even if it means you have no fuzz balls at home for a few days. Such a good mom you are!
Let's hope the weather breaks and the kids get out soon.
Awww, poor babies. Glad they are in a/c bliss now.
Try focusing the air conditioner in one closed off room like your bedroom it will probably help in a smaller area.
You are a good Kitty Mom! May you be reunited soon and may we all see normal PNW summertime temperatures real soon, too!
So glad you were there to take the boys to the vet...poor fellas...
you know they will not want to let them leave!
Awww, poor babies. I'm glad they're now somewhere cool and are feeling better. I bet they miss their mommy though and will be thrilled to see you when you go visit.
I hope cooler temps show up soon.
Ugh, I am so sorry... We're lucky enough to have AC. People mock us for having our AC programed to stay on during the day (set to 78 or 80), but we have a couple of furries (one of which could be Albert and Elvis's long lost sis) and they are just miserable in the heat. I frequently come home to them laying on the AC vents, cooling their bellies. Give those babies a snorgle for me and try to stay cool.
I feel your pain. I am desperately trying to keep Enid and Hester cool. I think today will be the deal breaker since my house didn't even cool down.
Thanks Thanks Thanks everyone for the wonderful support. And again, those of you with little furries in your house, good luck staying cool. Give all of your kitties hugs and smooches for me!!! Keep the kitty love going. xoxo
Cori--I'm sorry you are without the boyz for a day or two but so glad you acted quickly and have a great vet you can turn to.
I'm near Palm Springs (where we top 118-120 in summer). My a/c bill is staggering but the kitties are cool.

We leave the ac on between 78-80 for our furbabies when we are gone too! I agree with Anna. If possible, try putting the ac in your bedroom and shutting the door. You may find yourself living in your bedroom for a few days, but it is better than a heatstroke. It worked for me back when I only had a little window ac. It was just enough to cool one room down.
Yikes! I'm glad the boys are okay, and that they can spend time at the vet's with no problems. I hope the weather cools down for you!
I also have a one-room AC and yes, I live in there when it's really grotesquely hot. My cats don't seem to care for it - but then again, it's never above 100 here. Good luck and maybe lay on a bag of frozen peas yourself :)
Oh noes, we hope you all get cooler winds blowing your way.
The super hot weather is no fun, especially when you are wearing a fur coat.
Have a nice weekend.
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I buckled and gave Trudy and Lyle little kitty haircuts...
I started with Trudy on Monday, in anticipation of the coming heat and I felt AWFUL about it. She had such a lovely floofy coat! Next I tried to cut Lyle's, but he wouldn't have it. By Wednesday though, I didn't feel bad at all. Trudy was obviously doing so much better than Lyle, and he was so flopped out from the heat that I finally managed to cut half of his coat. Getting at his other side has been a struggle though, turns out he favors one side for laying on!
Anyway, hope you and your boys have been reunited and enjoyed the nice cool weather last evening. I know everyone in my house did! :)
Don't feel bad Lisa. I was 5 seconds away from having Albert's hair cut. Trust me, if it had stayed hot any longer that boy would be flaunting the most adorable lion cut ever. Pix please!!!
Yikes... I sympathize! What a good meowmie you are, boarding them at the vet so they can cool their cataloons!
Hope the temperature is down and your catsicles are home :)
Purrs from Cali
:-( that you miss the kitties, I hope they can be back soon!
That is some crazy weather you're getting. I hope it's a fluke and not a long-term change in weather patterns.
It's got to be a relief to know that the kitties are in cool rooms and good hands, but still, C'mon, Mother Nature!
Alright, here is Lyle's totally unhip haircut. I'll try to get some good pics of Trudy later. :)

I love love love the pics Lisa. Lyle is just as adorable as ever.
And by the way, the boys are home and LOVING the AC. More posts to come soon involving a bag of pork rinds, sensitive thugs and spiders. See ya soon!
You can try freezing 2 liter bottles of water and letting the boys lay with a frozen water bottle. Growing up, we had a bunny who was not very heat tolerant and my mom would take empty soda bottles, fill them almost all the way up (leaving room for expansion when they freeze), and then stick them in the freezer overnight. The ice bottles will stay at least partially frozen all day long and can be refrozen each night.
Laura, *awesome* idea re: the frozen 2 liter bottles. I'm going to try that next time it's really hot.
Just checking in at you. Are the boys still not home?
Oh goodness, poor Albert and Elvis...I've been gone for a while and I'm just catching up on all the kitty blogs! Hope you're all doing well and staying cool :)
