BABY BERT
Thank you everyone for your kind words and stories. I really needed to hear them. Really, I must have been living in a dream world if I though I could have two wild little boys and somehow the three of us wouldn't get into a few scrapes.
Albert has been pampered beyond belief for the past couple of days. He's gotten wet food TWICE, he didn't get in trouble when he jumped on the countertops, or when he knocked my hairbrush into the toilet, or when took his furry aggression out on my pillow...at 5 in the morning...while I was sleeping on it.
Our vet appointment is today at 5. They will be testing Albert's cute little floofy tail for circulation and other stuff that might occur when you squish your cat's rear end parts in a door. His tail looks like it might be working today although it still loops a little at the end. I hope for Albert's sake it gets better, otherwise Elvis is going to keep on tormenting him and calling him the Riddler due to his question mark shaped appendage.
Keep your fingers crossed!

I'm sure everything will be fine. It certainly sounds like he's doing better and at least you are aware of the situation and are taking the necessary steps to make sure he's okay.
After seeing all of the more recent pictures of the boys that baby picture shows how much they've grown. Albert is so tiny in that picture.
He'll be fine. It is good you are taking him to the vet... more for your peace of mind than his tail!
Keep us posted!
Cori you are a GREAT kitty mama!! and believe me Albert and Elvis know it too! Just wanted to pass that along after reading the last couple of blogs. I know Laurie wouldn't let any of her IBKC's go to just anyone. Even when kitties stay inside, stuff happens. Hope you and the boys are doing well and Albert heals up ASAP.
I think he's milking it to get the extra food and treats -- that's one way to make you forget his diet!
I KNOW it's not anything serious, but even if the vet says he does have a little injury, accidents happen. And this was just an accident. I've never met you, but even I know you would never intentionally harm your little men. Again, they are lucky to have such a good life with you.
Back to the other picture, I never realized how fluffy and how BROWN his belly is!!!!
fingers are crossed. I'm sure he'll be just fine =^.^=
and fyi, my security word is :uninged
seems like unhinged or undinged to me ;)
Aw,Cori - Sending virtual hugs...it's true, when we do something like that it's WAAAY worse on us than on our babies. I'll relate another story - worse, but it had a happy ending too: I was leaving the house one day and everyone was weaving around my feet...the upshot was that I stepped on little Lilliane, our *wee* kitty. She squealed *horribly* (although I think, having felt something under my foot, I jumped off immediately). But get this! When she screeched -- Evangeline attacked HER!! They immediately were a spitting hissing fighting clawing growling mess - I TOTALLY lost it, and (although they say NEVER reach into a catfight) I grabbed Evvie and put her down the basement and shut the door. After that Evangeline would growl in a TRULY menacing way if she even SAW Lilliane; I thought I was going to have to look for another home for one of my precious darlings!
I called our shelter, which has a resident Cat Whisperer (!) and learned the following....related here for the education of anyone reading. Seems Evangeline (especially bonded to ME) heard Lilli scream and thought (?) that Lilliane had attacked ME! So Ev reacted accordingly. The Whisperer said 1) it's called "misplaced aggression; 2) it DOES resolve, eventually; 3) the use of Feliway in a diffuser soothes both cats and helps.
It did, and we've had no incidents like that since. They never WERE close or cuddly or slept together, but they tolerate each other and get along as well as they did before. Lilliane wasn't hurt and Evangeline eventually believed me when I said it wasn't even Lilli's fault, &C &C. To close: we do adore and love our precious kitties as much as life itself - but they're resilient, and everything heals up. I'm SURE Albert will be fine, it's clear he's forgotten all about it. And Cori? WE love YOU for loving your babies as you do.
Cori,
you are a wonderful itty bitty kitty mama...those boys will never want for love and attention...they just think you should never close the bathroom door...company or not...
mine hate the closed bathroom door...no matter who's on the other side~
