Good News..

Elvis is home!!! He has been reacting positively to the blood transfusion and the doctor said he was good to come home. Elvis is one happy cat right now. He is on prednisone and an antibiotic. The doc still isn't sure what the problem is so we are going back next Saturday for more tests. He said the thing we want most is for the bone marrow to start doing it's job so that's what I will pray for. The waiting is hard, but for now, i am just so happy that Elvis is feeling better and eating...and HOME! Thank you all. I can't tell you how much it means to have a whole wide cat community to lean on for support. The boys and I appreciate it so much! More updates as they come.

Big hugs,
cori

P.s. I met Elvis's blood donor, Azure the cat. Elvis is now part Siamese. :)

How wonderful to have "our" Elvis home where he belongs. I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed for a full recovery. Lots of hugs from the other side of the country...and if Elvis "talks" more from now on...blame his blood donor.

Tears of happiness! I'm so happy your little man is home. He'll be in my thoughts all week, and you too, waiting for another test.

Tell young Master Albert to be good to his brother and not to pester him this week! Cuz I said so.

Yaaaay!!!!
So happy to hear he's home. Fingers crossed for more good news at the next vet visit.

(I know this is the least of your concerns right now, but if he ends up on something longterm, you might ask if any alternative steroid would work because longterm use of Prednisone often gives kitties diabetes)

Absolutely great news! Thrilled he's home and feeling better. (Sorry I didn't get the chance to thank you for blogging before now.) I'm thinking you'll be snuggling the boys a lot this weekend. Has Albert commenced his, um, sibling "rivalry" or is Elvis not smelling quite normal to Albert yet? Maybe the vet/medication smell doesn't bother Albert? Kate

WONDERFUL news that Elvis is home!!! He will build back more quickly in his familiar surroundings - and surrounded by your love. Will keep praying that his bone marrow will get back to the business of doing what it needs to do.

My Cagney has been on pred for some time - if you are having trouble administering it, see if you can get your vet to write an RX to take to a compounding chemist who can add tuna or chicken flavoring. Cagney loves pred so much that I now syringe it into a spoon. I then call "spoons" and she comes running from wherever in the house she is to lap it up.

Hugs to you, Cori!

I'm so glad to hear Elvis is feeling better. He's been one of my favorite kitties ever since he was "Davey."
Hope he continues to improve.

I'm glad Elvis is feeling better. It's so hard to have them not feeling well and not be able to tell them it'll get better!

Oh my god, what a relief to read this post. I am so glad the internet is full of people who will do anything to make their cats feel better, you make the world go round. Sending you, Elvis, and Albert good thoughts. I hope a diagnosis will be made soon and it will be a quick road to full health.

01That is awesome news!! Fingers crossed big time!! I'm so sorry I wasn't here when the news broke that Elvis was ill (life got even crazier at the Casa with a flood in the basement Thursday - I haven't been on the intertubes for pleasure at all).

Job #1 is to be with Elvis, so don't worry about keep us updated. We'll be purrin' and prayin' for him and for you (even us late supporters!).

Hugs'n'love,
