The next two days are going to be stressful times a billion. Thankfully the payoff is a bigger space for me and the boys to run around in. We are giving up modern convenience, (washer/dryer, dishwasher, ELEVATOR) for "old world charm," hardwood floors and the ever popular 3 1/2 flights of stairs. It crossed my mind that the boys are big enough now that I could strap saddles to their backs and load them up like Grand Canyon pack mules. But you know cats. They're such complainers. I would have to listen to them all day whine about how "Albert's carrying less stuff than me. It's not fair." So, into their carrier they go, never having to lift one furry little paw. Wish us luck!

Good Luck! Wait til you see how much more fun "thundering herd of elephants" is to play on hardwood floors!!!
Good luck to you! I know that moving can be a real pain, but you have an adorable support team ready to... whine about being in their carrier.
Oh, what fun a new home is! All the new sniffs to sniff, all the new things to mark, all the new windows to stare out of...
Me and my dynamic duo moved towns in July. It was a 1 1/2 hour drive, which was painful for all three of us! When we got to the new home, to my chagrin, my older kitty kept acting like she was waiting to go back! It has taken her a while, but she's gotten used to the new home. Her little brother adjusted like a real pro, though. You never can tell, sometimes...
Best wishes to you for a smooth move, hope you and the boys enjoy your new digs and settle in with a minimum of trouble. Love the image of Albert and Elvis with packs on their little backs, too cute!
I hope to see some blog posts about the hysterical "cartoon kitty" attempts at cornering on hard wood floors! Enjoy the move! Everyone keep safe/
I hope the next few days go well! I don't think I could give up my dishwasher or washer and dryer. I hope you and the boys love the new place!
My move starts Monday and I'm hoping Chloe handles it well. I've taken her to visit some family and she had no trouble adjusting to their homes so I think she'll be okay...
Good luck with your move..."old world charm" sounds lovely and I'm sure the boys will love the extra space to run around in...and our kitties agree with Max and Pooh..playing thundering herd of elephants is so much fun on hardwood floors...so is slipping and sliding and having 4 legs go in different directions :)
Hope your move goes smoothly and that your boys settle in well. They are great little guys and I really enjoy the way you write about their antics.
Good luck with the move Cori, hope you and the boys settle in quickly. With spring coming they will love watching the nature outside your new window.
Cori - I would trade almost anything for "old world charm". I live in a 1970s prefab - under the crappy carpet, plywood. On the walls, cheap drywall and plastic "wood panelling". I envy you and the boys....and I haven't thanked you recently for your fabulous pictures and stories and letting us share our beloved IBKs!
I hope all is going well and you guys are settling in. It may take the boys awhile to get used to THEIR house. You know everything is THEIRS!

Good luck with the move and settling-in period...
Our four-cat family is moving on Sunday... from "pack of hippos running around" wooden floors to "matrix jumps thanks to traction" carpet. Fun times!
Hope your furries are adapting well :)
Hope your move is going well! Have to say, your blog has provided me a great deal of consolation since my beloved 17 year old tabby, Q, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past Saturday.
Hugs and kisses to the boys.
Oh, Marlene, I'm so sorry. It is one year ago this month that my baby Belou passed and just writing this makes me tear up. I know how heartbreaking it is to loose a beloved friend and I just want you to know that you and Q are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much, Cori. Now, my only issue is how soon is too soon to get a pair of kittens. I think I'll try to live vicariously through you and the boys for a bit longer :)
